Manufacturing of Tomorrow – Teachers Industry Tour

Manufacturing of Tomorrow
Teachers Industry Tour
Friday 23rd March 2012

The South East LLEN in conjunction with the South East Manufacturers Members Alliance (SEMMA) is holding an Industry Tour for teachers to highlight and promote diverse careers in the manufacturing industry. The tour will take place on Friday 23rd March 2012.

Dandenong’s manufacturing industry offers opportunities for well paid and challenging careers in design, engineering, food technology, project management, human resources, marketing and finance.
Traditionally, process jobs in manufacturing were perceived as ‘Dirty, Dumb and Dangerous’, but the technology revolution has seen an evolution in manufacturing which today reflects a highly technical and innovative industry. Many companies in the City of Greater Dandenong boast world leading technology within their specialist field.

This tour will show teachers how technology is changing the face of manufacturing and how this changes the employability skills sought by industry employers.

Teachers will be accompanied by key industry figures whilst visiting various manufacturing sites. A guest speaker will join the tour for lunch and this will be followed by a Question and Answer session.

Transport and lunch are provided but places are limited. For more information or to register your place, call Charmaine D’Souza on 9794 6921.
