Handbrake Turn Courses in 2009

Hand Brake Turn course

Dates for 2009 are:

 

Monday 19th January 2009 &

Monday 30th March 2009

 

Referrals for these courses are now being accepted!

 

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants:

·        Must be aged between 15 - 20 yrs.

·        Must be Centrelink/Job Network Member registered or a Youth Pathways referral.

·        Must have basic Literacy and Numeracy Skills.

·        Willingness to learn & gain employment.

·        A Genuine interest in the Automotive Industry.

 

Please note:

·        Hand Brake Turn is an 8-week, hands on, full-time Automotive Training course, including Certificate I in Automotive, with the purpose of assisting young people to gain employment and apprenticeships/traineeships in the automotive industry.

 

·        All Young people who have a genuine interest in the Automotive Industry and wish to gain employment can contact:     Hand Brake Turn, on Ph. 9793 1466 for an interview at the Hand Brake Turn workshops in Dandenong.

 

·        Hand Brake Turn is an Australian Apprenticeship Access Programme (AAAP) provider.

Grants for Learning Support Programs

Information

 

Does your organisation run an Out of School Hours Learning Support Program (OSHLSP) like homework, tutoring, literacy or numeracy program? If the answer is yes, you may be eligible for a $15,000 grant through the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY). The Learning Beyond the Bell grant applications are open to organisations running OSHLSPs in the Melbourne Metropolitan Region where at least 50% of program participants are from newly arrived, refugee, and migrant backgrounds. CMY also provide a range of other supports for OSHLSPs including: networks, free tutor training, consultations, and other general support.

 

Applications close at 5pm on Monday 8th December.
