Castle Café

  The Castle Café provides 10 weeks accredited Hospitality, Retail and English as a Second Language training for 15 – 19 year old young people, not attending school, and with a connection to the City of

Greater Dandenong.
The training is free of charge and uniforms & equipment are provided.

  The Ucan2 program is in the process of recruiting volunteer peer mentors in the City of Greater Dandenong. We are open to receive expressions of interest from the inner Melbourne area as well. We are looking for 20-28 years old with experience in balancing part time work and study to be volunteer peer mentors. It’s an opportunity to further develop your leadership skills, contribute to your local community, help a peer and have fun.

Sudanese Youth In Transition DVD

  The University of Western Sydney have developed a DVD resource specific to Sudanese young people in transition between school and training, further education or employment.
‘Sudanese Youth in Transition’ is centred on four Sudanese young people who seek out practical advice on looking for jobs, writing resumes, and applying for University of TAFE. The interactive component of the DVD gives viewers direct access to important information and resources through downloadable files and links to websites.

  • Provide a supportive environment to share experiences and ideas
  • Reduce the guilt and shame which most parents feel
  • Offer ideas to help you develop individual strategies for managing your child’s behaviour
  • Explore ways of increasing safety and well-being
  • Help you feel more in control and less stressed
